How to solve crash in virtual servers when running Xen 4.8 and later versions

There is a bug which has been persistent in Xen 4.8 and later versions which makes virtual servers to keep crashing after upgrading its compute resources.

This causes the kernel to panic in 5 minutes after booting.

 

To resolve this problem,you can simply modify the kernel parameters by adding the following line;

 

On a CentOS based Linux distribution;

 

add 'mce=off' in the /boot/grub/grub.conf file.

 

While on Debian;

 

add 'mce=off' in the /boot/grub/menu.lst file.
