There is a bug which has been persistent in Xen 4.8 and later versions which makes virtual servers to keep crashing after upgrading its compute resources.
This causes the kernel to panic in 5 minutes after booting.
To resolve this problem,you can simply modify the kernel parameters by adding the following line;
On a CentOS based Linux distribution;
add 'mce=off' in the /boot/grub/grub.conf file.
While on Debian;
add 'mce=off' in the /boot/grub/menu.lst file.
